Charon is the Ferryman of the River Styx, the passage to the underworld. Nearly two hundred years ago, something shifted in the waters of the river. Seeing this, Charon prepared for what was to come; he sought out a soul, the soul of a powerful girl who was yet born. He persuaded the Fates to shape her destiny as he requested and they obliged, as they too felt the shift in the weave. Finally, he watched as her village was over run and her family killed. The girl awoke on his dock, mostly dead yet not completely. She begged to be allowed to follow her family but he refused, saying he needed her for things beyond his own power. "Odin calls you" he'd told her and changed her into a being of death. Eighty years passed from that point where the girl was kept below the living world, working to gain a mastery over her new abilities. He then released her, as Odin demanded into the living world, a gift of Wings given. He allowed her two mementos from her past; an orb to use as a weapon, and soul placed in the amulet. When in the living world, he appears as a shadowy figure surrounded by a ethereal water, a guiding light aiding him. Who is in the amulet and why did Charon allow her to keep it? Why has he allowed her to become his pet in the first place?
